FTR 1200 ROCKS THE WAVES
Biarritz, France - fondly regarded as one of the most elegant coastal towns on the Basque coast, a popular destination for European royalty in the 1800s, a mecca for surfers across Europe and for five days in July this year, rocked by one of the most in-fluential motorcycles to come out of the USA - Wheels & Waves 2019 WAS FTR 1200.
Rewind 12 months to W&W ‘18 and the FTR’s story began, quite literally, as Indian Motorcycle Vice President, Reid Wilson, stood on stage and confirmed that the FTR would make production. And so, just one year later, at the very same event, FTR 1200 rocked, raced and revelled in front of the Wheels and Waves crowd.
A truly unique event, spread across several locations, Wheels & Waves provided Indian Motorcycle the perfect location to showcase the FTR 1200, making its official flat track racing debut at the San Sebastian stadium, while just the night before at the ArtRide exhibition, Indian announced the ‘Artist Series’ of unique FTR tank covers, designed by five world-renowned artists and available to buy to customise the FTR 1200.
With the Krazy Horse FTR1200H Hooligans prepared by legendary American tuners, S&S, riders Leah Tokelove and Lee Kirkpatrick gave the crowd their first glimpse of the FTR in competitive action at the San Sebastian stadium, following the world unveiling of the Artist Series featuring five renowned artists including DFace, Risk, Adam Turman, ThankYouX along with skateboarding legend and artist Steve Caballero.
And if that wasn’t enough, Wheels & Waves 2019 climaxed on Saturday evening with one lucky visitor winning their very own FTR 1200S on the main stage.
An incredible event not to be missed next year – see you there!
